Infinix Note 3 review
The Infinix Note 3 comes in a blue rectangular box. When you open up the box, you will find the Infinix X601, a white AC charger, earphones, white USB cable, specs leaflet, user guide and SIM ejector tool.
Design & Display
Like its predecessor, the Infinix Note 3 features a large 6.0 inch Full HD screen. Its screen resolution is 1080×1920. This is an upgrade from Note 2’s 720×1280 pixels screen. It’s highly likely that you will love this screen if you are fan of big screens. It is vibrant and it displays clear images. This display is one of the features that really help to give this phablet a premium feel.
Infinix X601 is 162.5mm in length, 82.8mm wide and 8.4mm thick. This smartphone is heavier than the Infinix Note 2 because of its metallic body. The switch from poly-carbonate was a good move. The metallic finish gives this phone a premium feel, something that is absent in most smartphones in its price range.
The Infinix Note 3 runs on Android v6.0 Marshmallow. This phone brings the latest UI from Infinix into Kenya i.e. the XOS. The XOS not only customizes the Note 3, it is neat and it works well with its hardware. The XOS is no doubt significantly better than its predecessor, the XUI.
This phone has a powerful MT6753 Octacore 1.3GHz processor that is supported by 2GB of RAM. The performance is fantastic. Applications run efficiently. There is no lag when several applications are running at the same time.
Overheating is not something that you should expect when using the Infinix Note 3. This is because this phone utilizes the Aeroscope Cooling Technology. It is the first phone from Infinix Mobility to use this technology.
The Infinix X601 has a 13MP back camera and a 5MP selfie camera. Both cameras are good. The selfie camera has a soft flash to help you capture those quality moments even in low light conditions.
This is the striking feature in the Infinix Note 3. There are a few other phones in the budget range with fingerprint sensors. However, the fingerprint sensors on most of these smartphones are not as fast and as accurate as the fingerprint sensor on the Infinix X601 Note 3. The sensor on the Note 3 can also be used as a shutter button whenever you want to take photos.
The Infinix Note 3 comes with a massive 4500mAh battery. This is an upgrade from Note 2’s 4040mAh battery. The XCharge 3.0 makes it possible to fully charge this phone in 99 minutes. Furthermore, you can get up-to 200 minutes of talk-time after charging this phone for only 5 minutes. MediaTek PumpExpress charging technology helps to ensure that you can always charge your smartphone fast and safely.
