Infinix (X604) Note 5 Specifications Review

Design & Display

Most Infinix phones come with polycarbonate bodies. However, the Infinix Note 5 does not come with a plastic body like the Infinix Note 4.  This phone has a glass back that makes it look, unlike any other Infinix phone that you have seen before.  Note 5 is an elegant looking phone with curved edges that make it an easy phone to hold in one hand.  Despite having an enormous 6.0-inch display, it is a phone that easily fits in pockets.

Back side

The Infinix Note 5 does not have the physical home button like the Infinix Note 4 Pro and the Note 4. It has on-screen buttons instead.  The 6.0-inch screen has a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels. This display is sharp and clear. The edge to edge display with 18:9 aspect ratio makes this phone strikingly beautiful.  If you can’t buy the likes of Oppo Find X, the Infinix Note 5 is one of the cheaper phones that you can buy if you want to get closer to 90% screen to body ratio.

Hardware, Software & Performance

The Note 5 is powered by MediaTek Helio P23 processor. This processor is not only powerful, it is also power efficient.  The octa-core processor clocks at 2.0GHz and it is paired with 3GB of RAM.  You will experience a lag free experience when running your apps on this phone.

You get Android v8.1 Oreo on this phone in the purest form.  This is because it is featured in Google’s Android One program.  You get a smart, clean and secure Android experience.  There are no irritating additions and bloatware.  This also means that the Note 5 will be one of the first devices that will be upgraded to the new Android P.

Note 5 has 32GB onboard storage space. This should be enough space for apps and media. However, if you require more storage space, you can also use a memory card.

If you thought the Note 4 took great photos, you haven’t met the Infinix Note 5.  This phone’s cameras capture awesome quality photos with great detail.  Images captured by this smartphone’s 12MP rear camera, especially those captured outdoors are of top-notch quality.  Night shots are not bad either.  However, they are not as clear as the photos captured during the day when there is adequate natural light.  Fortunately, there is an LED flash that helps to make photos captured in low light places brighter and clearer.

Note 5 comes with a 16MP front-facing camera.  This camera has an f/2.0 light aperture that allows it to take in more light.  Infinix has incorporated AI into these cameras so that they can deliver clear, jaw-dropping photos.  Scenes captured are natural and you can use different camera modes to enhance your pictures and videos.

Battery & Extras

Note 5 is powered by a 4500mAh battery that can power it for up to 3 days on average use.  This battery supports fast charge – it can be charged from 0% to 100% in less than two hours.  This is a phone that you can use heavily for a full day on a single charge. Its 3A Charge technology can give a full day of use after 30 mins of charging.

Battery Life

Infinix Note 5 comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor that you can always use to unlock it fast and easily.
